SAN DIEGO - SDSU Men's Basketball
Press Conference Quotes

Steve Fisher
On SDSU's rivalry with USD
"(The game) is a big game for both teams. This game is of great interest locally and is on extreme importance to both programs. We are approaching in that fashion. It's been a series of streaks - (USD) won the first three and we've won the last three. We hope to continue that streak in our favor. We've got a lot of respect for Brad Holland and what he has done at the University of San Diego, their program and their kids. We're excited and anxious about the game."

On USD's home court advantage
"I think there is an advantage to some degree. They practice in Jenny Craig and we practice in Cox Arena. We won't have an opportunity to shoot on those rims until we get over there on Wednesday. The nice part is we don't have to sleep in a hotel room and fly across the country to prepare for the game the day before."

"I think you are always more comfortable in the gym you practice in. Whether it's a small facility or a huge one, you're more comfortable in your own surroundings. It's an advantage, that's why most teams win more at home then they do on the road."

On the progress of freshmen Richie Williams and Kyle Spain
"We've had high expectations of (Richie Williams and Kyle Spain) since they walked in the door. They have both performed, which is what we expect them to do. We have to understand that, on occasion, they will play like freshmen and like they did in high school. That's why you give them a little break. You have to know when to pat them on the back and when to yell them. I think they've done a very good job out of the gate, but we've expected that."

Brandon Heath
On SDSU's rivalry with USD

"It's a game I look forward to every year. Everyone looks forward to playing their rival. The game is much more intense. I know the game means a lot to everyone on our team and I know it means a lot to (USD). It's going to be a hard-fought game and the both team will win."

On playing the game at Jenny Craig Pavilion
"It's a little smaller than Cox Arena, but it will still be packed. (USD) will have their fans and I'll fans will be there, too. I like playing there and I'm looking forward to the game."

"We have a lot of respect for USD. We know they work hard every day, just as we do. They are going to come out there and play just as hard as we are."
