LAS VEGAS, Nev. - San Diego State middle blocker Lindsey Noll and libero Aime Cordeiro have been selected to the all-Mountain West Conference volleyball squad as selected by the league's nine head coaches. The team was announced at Wednesday evening's pre-tournament banquet for the MWC Championship event that gets underway on Thursday in Las Vegas.
Noll, a senior from St. Louis, has been one of the top hitters and blockers in the conference this fall. She is hitting .343 in all matches and .finished at 373 in league contests to lead San Diego State. Those attack percentages rank third and second respectively in the MWC this week. In addition, her blocking average of 1.44 bpg in league games ranked third in the MWC stats while her overall average of 1.32 is fourth-best in the league this week.
Cordeiro, a sophomore from Santee, Calif. (West Hills HS), continues to lead the MWC in digs (overall) with an average of 4.70 per game. She concluded league play as the MWC leader, averaging of 4.60 dpg. Her 35 digs in the match at UNLV on Oct. 7 established a new Mountain West Conference record and was the second-most digs in a match ever by an Aztec.
San Diego State, the number-five seed, opens play at the 2005 MWC Tournament Thursday evening (Nov. 224) when it takes on fourth-seeded UNLV at Cox Pavilion in Las Vegas.
