CORVALLIS, Ore. - San Diego State saw its nine-match unbeaten run come to an end Friday afternoon as it dropped a 2-1 decision to Oregon State at Lorenz Field in Corvallis. The loss dropped the Aztecs' record to 7-1-2 and 1-1-1 in Pac-10 play. Conversely, the Beavers extended their current unbeaten streak to nine games with the win as they improved to 6-2-4 (2-0 Pac-10).

SDSU had the better of the play in the first half and made it pay off with a goal by senior Heath Creager in the 37th minute. Defender Eric Santiago sent a high ball down field that was headed beyond the OSU defense by Raul Bautista. Creager latched onto the through ball and beat OSU keeper Packy Deenihan with the one-on-one opportunity.

After the break, the momentum shifted as the Beavers went on the attack. They knotted the score at the 64:17 mark when Robbie Findlay sent a low cross in from the right that found its way to the far post where Ryan Johnson knocked it in for his third goal of the year.

The game winner came at 81:53 with Findley again creating the scoring chance when his cross from the right was headed in by Brett Gardner.

San Diego State out-shot the home side 12-11 on the afternoon and had seven corners to OSU's two. But it was the Aztecs' Tally Hall who was the busier of the two goalies with seven saves compared to a pair by the Beavers' Deenihan.

The 15th-ranked Aztecs continue their Pac-10 road trip on Sunday (Oct. 9) when they will be in Seattle to take on Washington at 1:00 p.m. (PDT).
