The San Diego State women's golf `B' team is in second place overall Monday after the first round of The Golf Mart/Lady Otter Invitational in Seaside, Calif. The Aztecs posted a first round 326 and trail tournament leader Western Washington by seven strokes at the par-73, 5,957-yard Fort Ord Golf Course.
Aztec freshman Alana Erlandson (Palm Desert, Calif.) and senior Megan Mulhaupt (Trabuco Canyon, Calif.) are tied for the team lead, after posting matching scores of 7-over 80 to tie for seventh on the individual leaderboard.
Redshirt freshman Amanda Egan (Benicia, Calif.) is one stroke behind her teammates, carding an 81, including a 39 on the front nine. Sophomore MacKenzie Swecker (Winnemucca, Nev.) and freshman Petra Cole (San Diego, Calif.) are tied for 29th overall after both ending up at 12-over 85.
Western Washington's Candice Wagner leads the 116-golfer field by one stroke after firing a 4-over 77.
The 23-team tournament concludes Tuesday with the final 18 holes.
