SAN DIEGO - San Diego State got double-figure kill performances from four players as it defeated TCU, 3-1 (30-22, 30-28, 28-30, 30-21), Sunday afternoon in Peterson Gym. Melanie Greene led the way for the Aztecs with 13 kills, adding 11 digs to record her team-leading eighth double-double of the season.

With the victory, SDSU improved to 12-7 overall and 4-2 in the Mountain West Conference as it maintained sole possession of fourth place in the league standings. TCU, meanwhile, saw its record fall to 12-9 (2-4 MWC).

For Aztec senior middle blocker Lindsey Noll, it was the second straight match in which she had a career-high 12 total blocks, and her 11 block assists established a new collegiate personal best as well. By adding 11 kills over the four games, Noll notched the first double-double of her collegiate career.

In addition to Greene and Noll, other Aztecs to hit double figures in kills included Audra Dent and Lindsey Mahan with 12 apiece.

In a match that was fairly even statistically, three TCU players ended in double figures in kills as well: Hayley Harmon (13), Talaya Whitfield (11) and Anna Vaughn (10).

Although the Aztecs hit .265 for the match compared to .199 for the visitors, it was SDSU's ability at the net that proved to be the difference. San Diego State finished with 18 team blocks compared to 11 for the Horned Frogs. Included in SDSU's total was a season-high 32 block assists led by Noll and Dent (six).

In game one, SDSU took the lead at 11-10 and were never caught as they gradually pulled away for the eight-point win. Melanie Greene led the home side with five kills while Lindsey Noll had three kills and three blocks.

The second game went back and forth with the Aztecs finding themselves down at 28-27. However, a kill by Alicia Waller knotted the score at 28 and a pair of combination blocks by Waller and Lindsey Mahan gave SDSU the win. Lindsey Noll led SDSU with four kills and added three more blocks to her total.

Although trailing most of the way in the third game, the Horned Frogs offense came alive when it mattered most. Behind 28-26, TCU ran off the game's final four points on kills by Hayley Harmon and Talaya Whitfield plus a pair of SDSU attack errors to take the game. Harmon led TCU with five kills while Dent had five for the Aztecs.

San Diego State came out for the fourth game with a renewed purpose, jumping out to a 5-0 lead. The Horned Frogs were able to get as close as three on only one occasion as SDSU led from start to finish to wrap up the match. Aztec middle blocker Lindsey Mahan contributed 5 kills in the game while Noll had a half dozen blocks.

Up next for San Diego State is a trip to the Beehive state as it travels to Provo, Utah, to face 15th-ranked Brigham Young on Friday, Oct. 21, at 7:00 p.m. (MDT).
