SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - Jeff Webb had nine catches for 142 yards and two touchdowns to lead San Diego State to a 28-19 win over Utah on Saturday evening, the Aztecs' first road victory of the season.

San Diego State (3-4, 2-2 Mountain West) extended Utah's losing streak to three straight and ended a 10-game home winning streak for the Utes (3-4, 1-3).

Kevin O'Connell completed 17 of 23 passes for 219 yards and three touchdowns. He also ran for 88 yards to spoil Utah's homecoming and give San Diego State its first win at Utah in 10 years.

Brian Johnson had 483 yards of offense for Utah, completing 31 of 47 passes for 417 yards and ran for a score. But Johnson also had an interception and the Utes couldn't overcome the tandem of O'Connell and Webb.

O'Connell hit Webb on a 10-yard pass for a touchdown to put the Aztecs up 28-19 with 12:18 to play. The drive was kept alive on a 38-yard pass from O'Connell to Webb.

Utah, which never recovered after falling behind 14-0, drove down the field but Reggie Grigsby caused Quinton Ganther to fumble the ball into the end zone and Marcus Demps recovered for a touchback.

The Aztecs came up with another big defensive play on the next Utah drive when Terrell Maze stopped Ganther on fourth down to seal the victory.

In the third quarter, Ganther ran for a 3-yard touchdown but Johnson was stopped by Freddy Keiho on the two-point conversion attempt.

Dan Beardall kicked two field goals in the second quarter, including a career-long 47-yarder just before halftime to draw Utah within 21-13.

San Diego State had taken a 21-3 lead on a 5-yard pass to Robert Ortiz from O'Connell, who set up the play with a 61-yard run.

The Aztecs got off to a quick start and had 144 yards of offense in the first quarter, more than the 140 yards they gained in a 13-10 loss to UNLV the week before.

On the fifth play from scrimmage, Webb caught a 60-yard touchdown pass. After an apparent touchdown was overturned after a replay, O'Connell lunged across the goal line and SDSU led 14-0 early in the first quarter.

Utah's Brian Hernandez had seven catches for 148 yards, his second straight 100-yard receiving game.
