SAN DIEGO - Last week's win at the Club Glove Intercollegiate propelled the San Diego State men's golf team into the No. 17 spot on Golfweek/Sagarin's top-25 nationally ranked collegiate teams.
Sophomore David Palm and senior Josh Warthen captured the 62nd and 95th spots, respectively, in the Golfweek/Sagarin national poll, after their performance at the Club Glove Intercollegiate. Both Palm and Warthen shot a three-round 220 to share co-medalist honors.
Palm and Warthen's co-medalist win was the first time that two Aztecs shared the individual title in any tournament since the formation of the Mountain West in 1999. The last time any two SDSU players shared the medalist title was 1978 when three-time all-Americans Lennie Clements and Carl Worley tied for first at the Sun Devil Invitational.
Last year, the Aztecs ended the 2004-05 campaign ranked 45th on the Golfweek/Sagarin national rankings and had two players - then-senior Aaron Choi and current-senior Andrew Scott - ranked in the top-150.
San Diego State returns to the course on October 14-15 when they play in the Fresno State Lexus Classic.
