LONG BEACH, Calif. - The San Diego State women's soccer team fell to Long Beach State, 1-0, in double overtime Sunday afternoon in Long Beach, Calif. With the loss, the Aztecs fell to 6-5 on the season, while the 49ers improved to 7-1-1.

Long Beach's goal came midway through the second overtime when freshman Kim Silos took a cross from Hayley Bolt and knocked the ball into the right side of the net for the game-winner at 104:23.

In an aggressive match that had 28 combined fouls, the 49ers outshot SDSU, 16-9, including a 7-0 advantage in the extra periods.

SDSU senior defender Amanda Swiader, who scored the game-winning goal in the Aztecs 1-0 victory over Pacific on Friday, made a game-saving stop on Silos with only seconds remaining in regulation, clearing the ball out of harm's way to keep the game scoreless.

Freshman Jen Mello led SDSU's offensive attack with four shots and five others contributed one shot apiece.

The Aztecs, who started nine underclassmen for the fifth consecutive game, lost its third overtime match of the season after going 1-0-6 in extra-session games a season ago.
