SAN DIEGO - The Big Ten Conference has announced that the San Diego State-Ohio State football game, scheduled for Sept. 17 in Columbus, has been selected for a regional telecast by ABC-TV.
Kickoff for the game is set for 3:36 p.m. (12:36 p.m. Pacific) from Ohio Stadium.
The Ohio State contest becomes the second Aztec football game in 2005 scheduled for television. The Sept. 3 opener against UCLA will be televised by ESPN2 with other television appearances to be announced at a later date.
San Diego State will be appearing on ABC for the second consecutive season and for the sixth time since the 1998 season. The Aztecs are 3-3 on ABC during that span. The network was in Qualcomm Stadium in 2004 when the Aztecs hosted Colorado State.
San Diego State will be visiting Columbus for the second time in three seasons. In 2003, SDSU's upset bid fell short in a 16-13 loss to the second-ranked Buckeyes. The only other meeting between the schools took place in 2001 with Ohio State earning a 27-12 victory. The two schools have no future meetings scheduled.
Last season, San Diego State visited No. 17 Michigan and again fell just shy of the upset, falling 24-21 to the eventual Big Ten champions on ESPN.
