SALT LAKE CITY, Utah - San Diego State center fielder Quintin Berry and third baseman Lance Zawadzki were named to the 12-man all-tournament team at the recently concluded 2005 Mountain West Conference Championship held at Franklin Covey Field in Salt Lake City.
Berry batted .476 (10-for-21) over SDSU's five games with three doubles, six runs scored and seven runs batted in. He also drew four walks for a .560 on-base percentage and was successful in his one steal attempt.
Zawadzki, meanwhile, hit .333 (7-for-21) with seven runs scored, eight RBI and a pair of stolen bases. He hit three home runs during the tournament, including a pair in SDSU's opener vs. Air Force.
The Aztecs won three and lost two in at the conference title event as they completed their season with an overall record of 26-35. They finished third in league play during the regular season with a mark of 17-13.
SDSU had seven players named to the all-MWC team at the conclusion of their 2005 league campaign. In addition to Berry and Zawadzki, other all-conference Aztecs included right-handed pitcher Bruce Billings (MWC Pitcher of the Year), shortstop James Guerrero, catcher Jordan Swaydan, outfielder Jake McLintock and left-handed pitcher Alex Hinshaw.
