SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The San Diego State lightweight eight boat took second Saturday at the Pacific Coast Championships on the shores of Lake Natoma in Sacramento, Calif. The regatta featured women's and men's rowing teams from colleges and universities across the western United States.

The lightweight eight, ranked sixth in the nation according to the USRowing Collegiate coaches poll, placed second with a time of 7 minutes, 14.7 seconds behind fourth-ranked Stanford (7:02.9). No. 10 Loyola Marymount (7:19.8) and 14th-ranked California (7:24.9) rounded out the four-team race.

The Aztec lineup consisted of Jenny Allen, Kristen Anderson, Amanda Bremseth, Caitlin Carrion (cox), Vanessa Kenley (bow), Deidra Little, Lynda Shuker (stroke), Coby Vandenberg and Rachael Vrooman.

The varsity eight, second varsity eight, novice eight and varsity four boats will take part in the Pac-10 Championships on Sunday.
