SAN DIEGO - San Diego State junior left-hander Alex Hinshaw has been named the Mountain West Conference Pitcher of the Week for his performance against UNLV last Friday. Hinshaw has recorded career bests in strikeouts in three of his last four starts as he has fanned 45 in 29.2 innings in those four outings. He has recorded four straight wins as he has improved his MWC record to 4-1 with a 4.08 earned run average.

Hinshaw's first conference award came on April 18 when was named the Pitcher of the Week for his performance in his outing vs. Brigham Young (on April 15).
