FORT COLLINS, Colo. - The 40th-ranked San Diego State women's tennis team won five singles matches and used a doubles sweep to tally a 6-1 victory over Wyoming in a Mountain West Conference match Saturday in Fort Collins, Colo. With the win, the Aztecs improve to 11-8 on the season and even their conference record at 2-2. The Cowgirls, meanwhile, fall to 1-5 in conference play and 8-10 overall.

In doubles action, the team of Indra Erichsen and Nina Spaeth recorded their fourth win at the top position with their 8-4 victory over Carina Lazar and Amy Senko. At No. 2, Dita Hauerlandova and Alesya Vidov got back to their winning ways with a 9-8(3) triumph over Patricia Chien-Karolina Rowinski, while the freshman duo of Sisse Nielsen and Carla Bell posted an 8-4 victory at No. 3.

Similar to doubles play, singles action was dominated by the Aztecs. Vidov won at No. 1 with her, 6-4, 6-3, performance over Wyoming's top singles player in Chien. On court two, Hauerlandova cruised by Lazar in straight sets, 6-1, 6-1. Both wins at the top of the order snapped three-match losing streaks by Vidov and Hauerlandova.

After Andrea Hermansen lost to Rowinski at No. 3, 6-1, 6-1, three SDSU freshmen notched victories at Nos. 4-6 to seal the victory.

Eliska Krausova was a, 6-1, 6-1, winner over Andrea House at the fourth position. Spaeth blanked Kim Romero at No. 5, 6-0, 6-0, to break her two-match losing streak and Nielsen downed Senko in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3.

San Diego State will take on Colorado State tomorrow at Rolland Moore Racquet Complex. The match is scheduled for a 10 a.m. MST start.
