AZUSA, Calif. - San Diego State sophomore Janine Polischuk placed ninth with 4,968 points Thursday at the Mt. SAC Relays Heptathlon in Azusa, Calif. Polischuk moved up two places from day one in her first heptathlon of the season.
Polischuk set season-best marks in the long jump (18 feet, 4 ¼ inches) and 800-meter run (2 minutes, 29.21 seconds) on the final day of competition. She also competed in the javelin throw on Thursday with a toss of 116-5.
On Wednesday, Polischuk ran the 200 in 25.97 and cleared 5-2 ½ in the high jump. She also ran the 100-hurdles in 14.76 and threw the shot put 34-4 ¼.
The Mt. SAC Relays Heptathlon was part of this weekend's prestigious 47th annual Mt. SAC Relays, which continue April 15-17, in Walnut, Calif.
