SANTA BARBARA, Calif. - San Diego State won the doubles point for a third straight match and recorded three singles victories before UC Santa Barbara could get on the board en route to a 5-2 victory at RecCen Courts on the campus of UC Santa Barbara. The win marks the third consecutive for the Aztecs, all of which have come on the road, and improves their record to 7-5 on the season.

For the third match in a row, the Aztecs claimed the doubles point by winning two of the three matches.

At No. 1, the tandem of Benedikt Stronk and Mountain West Conference player of the week Armando Carrascosa posted their sixth straight victory, all at the top position, by beating Nick Brotman and Ivan d'Argence, 8-6. The team's second win came at No. 3 when Markus Dickhardt and Eugenio Romero took down Leo Basica-Elad Stern, 8-4.

In singles play, Markus Dickhardt improved to 4-1 at No. 2 thanks to his, 6-1, 6-4, win over Brotman. The win is the sophomore's second straight.

Next in the lineup at No. 3, Carrascosa posted a, 6-2, 6-2, victory over d'Argence and Daniel Jung (6-3, 6-2) and Chris Groh (6-0, 6-4) followed it up with wins at Nos. 4-5 to give the match its final score.

The Aztecs return home for the MWC opener Friday when they host Utah at 11 a.m.
