LAS VEGAS, Nev. - The 33rd-ranked San Diego State women's tennis team fell to No. 35 UNLV, 4-3, in a Mountain West Conference match at Fertitta Tennis Complex Friday morning. The Rebels snapped the Aztecs' three-match winning streak and improve to 8-4 overall and 1-0 in conference play, while SDSU falls to 10-6 and 1-1 in the MWC.

The Aztecs started the morning by sweeping doubles play for a fourth consecutive match. Indra Erichsen and Nina Spaeth defeated Elena Gantcheva and Sharon Marin, 9-8, at No. 1, to remain undefeated as partners. At No. 2, the SDSU tandem of Dita Hauerlandova and Alesya Vidov took care of business as they posted an 8-3 victory over Anne Claire Ortiz-Luis and Linda Tempelfelde. And at the final position, Andrea Hermansen and Eliska Krausova upset No. 55 Gyorgyi Zsiros-Claire Smith by a score of 8-3.

In singles, the Aztecs managed to win only twice as the Rebels claimed victories at Nos. 1, 2, 4 and 5. At No. 3, Hermansen won in three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 6-4, over UNLV's Marin. SDSU's other win came at No. 6 where Spaeth won her 11th consecutive match in a 6-3, 6-1, triumph over Smith. Spaeth is now 13-1 in dual matches this spring.

San Diego State will conclude its road trip tomorrow with a match against No. 48 New Mexico in Las Vegas, Nev., at 10 a.m.
