SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State football squad will put a wrap on spring drills Saturday morning with the Red-Black game at the Aztecs' practice facility. The team will take to the field at approximately 9:15 a.m. with the game scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.

The Mighty 1090 will be broadcasting live from the Red-Black game with Aztec head coach Tom Craft on the air with Chris Ello. The practice facility will be dressed up for the event with seating for 1,200 fans, concessions courtesy of Aztec Shops and public address provided by The Mighty 1090, the radio home of Aztec football.

The Black squad will feature guest head coaches Max Gelwix and Brent Wilkes while the Red team will include guest coaches Steve Duich, Mike Ibe and Scott Pressley.

"We are looking forward to the event and the competition," head coach Tom Craft said. "We also appreciate the support of our guest coaches.

"We really wanted to end the spring with a game atmosphere as a form of reward for the players. This event is geared toward them. We have had a productive spring and this game will become an annual event," the head coach added.

The Red Squad will include running backs Lynell Hamilton and Michael Franklin and will be quarterbacked by senior Matt Dlugolecki. That squad will also feature a strong secondary of Marcus Demps, Jacob Elimimian and Reggie Grigsby, along with newcomer Josh Gomez at safety.

The Black squad will counter with freshman quarterback Darren Mougey and defensive line standouts Antwan Applewhite, Nick Osborn, Kurt Kahui and Jonathan Bailes.

The Aztec coaching staff has also been divided between the two camps.

The game will feature four, eight-minute quarters with all drives starting at the 20-yard line. There will be no rushing or returns in the punting game and fourth-down conversion attempts will be limited to goal-to-go situations.
