SAN DIEGO - San Diego State will play the Air Force Academy on Thurs., March 10, in the quarterfinal round of the 2005 Mountain West Conference Men's Basketball Championships at Pepsi Center in Denver, Colo. The game will be broadcast nationally on ESPN beginning at 9 p.m. PST.

The Aztecs (10-17, 4-10 MWC), the tournament's sixth seed, will be facing the third-seeded Falcons (18-11, 9-5) for the third time this year. In two meetings this season, SDSU owned a halftime advantage but was unable to hold on for the victory on both occasions.

SDSU heads into the MWC Tournament having never faced Air Force in tournament history and has an all-time record of 3-4 in MWC Tournament play.

In the last meeting between the two schools on Feb. 28, true freshman guard Matt Thomas had a career-high 20 points on 12-of-13 free-throw shooting in 38 minutes of action in a 77-57 loss at Cox Arena.
