FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Matt Williams scored eight of his career-high 26 points in overtime and Jason Smith added 23 points as Colorado State ended an eight-game losing streak with a 93-88 victory over San Diego State Saturday night.

Williams was 8-for-8 from the free throw line and accounted for eight of his teams 15 points in the extra period. Sean Morris had 17 points and sent the game into overtime with two free throws with 9.3 seconds left in regulation for Colorado State (10-14, 2-9 Mountain West Conference).

Brandon Heath had 28 points but missed the front end of a bonus opportunity that would have clinched the game for San Diego State with 20 seconds left. Marcus Slaughter had 18 points, but was limited to 24 minutes of playing time with foul trouble for San Diego State (10-13, 4-6).

In overtime, the Aztecs led 83-82 on Heath's layup, but Colorado State pulled ahead 85-83 on two free throws by Matt Nelson and one by Smith. Two free throws by Heath tied it at 85-85, but Williams converted two free throws and Michael Morris hit his a short jumper to give the Rams the lead for good.

San Diego State led 77-74 with 1:10 remaining in regulation after Heath's baseline drive and 3-pointer. Nelson's two free throws brought the Rams within 78-76 before Heath's missed free throws set up the tying free throws by Sean Morris.

With Slaughter scoring 12 points and Heath's 3-pointer, San Diego State built a 30-16 lead to control the game early. But Smith caught fire, scoring eight straight points at one point for Colorado State which tied it at 37-37 on three free throws by Sean Morris with 1:09 left in the first half.

Matt Thomas broke the tie with a driving layup and the Aztecs took a 39-37 lead into halftime.
