SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State men's tennis team defeated the University of the Pacific, 4-3, Sunday afternoon at the Balboa Tennis Club. The win moved the Aztecs above the .500 mark and are now 3-2 overall. The loss drops the Tigers to 1-3 on the season.

In doubles action, SDSU struggled and lost the doubles point thanks to a clean sweep by Pacific.

Despite trailing 1-0 heading into singles play, the Aztecs came back and took four of the six singles matches to clinch the victory.

At number three, sophomore Markus Dickhardt beat Vladimir Zdravkovic in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2. Doubles partner and senior teammate, No. 94 Dontia Haynes, defeated Niclas Otte at number four, 6-3, 6-2.

Rounding out the win for the Aztecs were a pair of wins at numbers five and six.

Senior Daniel Jung improved to 3-0 on the season at the number five spot with his convincing 6-0, 6-0 win over Alan Kelly and junior Eugenio Romero extended his winning streak to three when he downed Austin Kakar, 6-3, 6-4.

San Diego State will be in action on Feb. 21, when it plays host to Fresno State at SDSU Tennis Stadium. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
