Postgam enotes from the UNLV at San Diego State basketball game on Sat., Feb. 12.

SDSU slipped to 0-3 in overtime games this year with all three coming at home (also -against UCSB (80-72) and Wyoming (88-81).

Heath's 17-for-17 free-throw performance is the best single-game performance without a miss in school history. The previous mark of 15-for-15 was set by Bernie Finlay vs. Cal State Los Angeles during the 1959-60 season.

After going 12-for-12 from the free-throw line in the two schools' earlier meeting, Aztec sophomore Brandon Heath was 17-for-17 from the stripe today. Heath's 17 free throws are the most by an SDSU player in a MWC game (prev. 12 by Heath), the 17 attempts are also a record in a conference contest (prev. 15 by Tony Bland at CSU in 2003) and it ties the mark in percentage (best considering no. attempted). The 17 free throws and attempts are the most by an Aztec in the Fisher era (prev. 11).

SDSU finished 33-for-40 from the stripe for a 82.5 free-throw percentage ... the 33 free throws are SDSU's most in a MWC game (prev. 26 at Wyoming - 2003) ... the 40 attempts are the second-most in an MWC game ... the 82.5 percentage is the fifth best in an MWC contest.

In terms of Cox Arena records, the 33 free throws tie as the most made by the Aztecs (three times) ... the 40 attempts are the second most at Cox Arena (record is 44 vs. CS Northridge in 2001) ... Brandon Heath's 17 free throws and attempts are both Cox Arena records (prev. 12 made, 14 attempts).

With 25 points and 10 rebounds, SDSU sophomore Marcus Slaughter moved into a tie with Michael Cage for most double-doubles by a sophomore in a season with 10. Slaughter has 12 career double-doubles.

Slaughter scored 20 or more points in a game for the sixth time this season and in his career ... the last time Slaughter reached the 20-point mark was Dec. 18, at LMU when he had 21 points in the 72-68 loss ... Slaughter has scored 10 or more points in every contest this season.

The Aztecs had a pair of players score 20 or more points in a game for the fourth time this season and the first time since Marcus Slaughter and Brandon Heath had 24 and 20 points respectively against UCSB on Dec. 4, 2004.

SDSU also led by seven points at the half in the two teams meeting earlier this season (39-32) in Las Vegas ... UNLV has been held to fewer than 30 points in the first half for the fifth time in its nine MWC games.

Brandon Heath made his first three-pointer, after missing 17 straight, to give the Aztecs a 34-29 lead ... Heath was a combined 0-for-14 from beyond the arc in the last three conference contests against New Mexico, Utah and BYU.

SDSU used its 12th different starting lineup this season, marking only the second time that both true freshman, Tyler Smith and Matt Thomas, have been in the same starting five ... SDSU is 2-0 when they are both in the starting line-up.

SDSU's Matt Thomas had a career game-high eight rebounds ... John Sharper is tied for ninth all-time for career three pointers with 76 with Matt Watts ... Marcus Slaughter became the 19th player in the SDSU Division I era to reach 400 career rebound mark ...
