SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) - San Diego State avenged its only loss of the season by making 12 3-pointers in a 73-55 victory at UC Santa Barbara.

The Aztecs (4-1) have won four in a row since losing their season opener at home to the Gauchos (1-4).

Brandon Heath led San Diego State's 3-point barrage by going 4-for-6 from behind the arc. Heath had 20 points.

Marcus Slaughter had game-highs of 24 points and seven rebounds and made three 3-pointers.

The Aztecs shot 60 percent from behind the 3-point line, and 60 percent in overall field goals.

John Sharper made three straight threes in a three-minute spurt late in the first half to help San Diego State take a 38-24 lead. Sharper had 15 points.

The Aztecs made 6 of 7 3-pointers to start the second half and used a 17-0 run to take a 33-point lead, 60-27. Their biggest lead was 36.

Cameron Goettsche led UC Santa Barbara with 10 points.
