DENVER - The San Diego State men's soccer team gave up a pair of goals to Denver midfielder Travis Hendricks and were unable to mount a scoring threat of their own, falling to the Pioneers Friday afternoon, 2-0. The Aztecs drop to 3-6-1 in the MPSF (3-12-2 overall), while Denver improves to 6-3 in conference action (9-5-1 overall).
Hendricks first score came with just six minutes gone in the first half as he took a perfectly placed cross and headed the ball past SDSU keeper Tally Hall.
The Pioneers would put the game away in the 60th minute on Hendricks' goal where he found himself in a one-on-one situation with Hall.
For the game, the Aztecs were outshot by the Hornets (18-8). However, SDSU attempted more corner kicks (7-5). Top players for the Aztecs include Hall, who made seven saves on the day, and Heath Creager, who put up three shot attempts, one on goal.
SDSU plays its final road game of the season Sunday at Air Force in a game scheduled for Noon MT.
