SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State softball coaching staff will be holding two instructive, informative and fun softball camps from July 11-14, 2005. The camp for ages 9-13 are each day from 8-11 a.m., while the sessions for ages 14-18 take place from noon-3 p.m.
The camp for ages 9-13 focuses on the basic fundamentals in all aspects of the game, including pitching and catching. Actual games will be played and game situations will be introduced.
The camp for ages 14-18 is geared toward high school, travel ball, and junior college athletes. This advanced camp will have hands-on training in all aspects of throwing, fielding, hitting, sliding, baserunning, pitching, and catching. Actual games will be played and a strong focus will be placed on game situations. Discussions on strength and conditioning, as well as college options, will be offered.
SDSU head softball coach Kathy Van Wyk, assistant coaches Kelly Warren and Jennifer Milo and current and former members of the SDSU softball team, instruct the camp.
