SAN DIEGO - San Diego State women's water polo head coach Carin Crawford announced today the signing of Anna Gonzales, Erinn Greenwood and Jenna Schuster to National Letters of Intent. The trio will join the Aztecs in the fall of 2005.
Gonzales, a native of Fresno, Calif., is a decorated defender from Clovis West High School. She is a two-time All-American, a member of the 2004 National Youth "A" team, a two-time all-Valley selection and a 2003 all-Tri-City Athletic Conference first team member. During the 2003 season, Gonzales led her team in scoring with 68 goals and dished out 27 assists, while notching 60 steals and 33 drawn ejections.
Greenwood (Sanger, Calif.) is a defender from Buchanan High School. She is an All-American, a member of the 2004 National Youth "B" team and a two-time all-Valley selection. So far this season, Greenwood earned most valuable player accolades in the Clovis Showdown and Sierra Shootout Tournaments in September.
Schuster, (Upland, Calif.), a utility player, led Upland High School to two consecutive CIF Division V titles. In addition, she is a three-time all-Baseline League first team selection and an all-CIF Division V honoree. Schuster was also a member of the USA Youth National Women's Team.
The Aztecs open the 2005 season with a scrimmage against alumni from SDSU on Jan. 29 at noon, followed by the UC San Diego Invitational taking place Feb. 5-6.
