-The Records: San Diego State kicks-off its 2004-05 campaign with a trip across town, as the Aztecs take on rival University of San Diego, Nov. 23, at Jenny Craig Pavilion. SDSU will be almost two weeks removed from its only exhibition contest, a 69-51 win over Team Concept on Nov. 10. The Nov. 23 game is the Aztecs' latest season-opener since 1995-96 and is the first time they will open their year on an opponent's court since 2000-01.
USD, meanwhile, is officially 0-1 on the year, but has come up on the losing side in each of its two outings so far in 2004. The Toreros fell at Arizona State last Saturday, 70-45, and also dropped an exhibition contest to UC San Diego, 78-72, back on Nov. 6.
-SDSU Head Coach Jim Tomey: Tomey (Michigan '81) is in his third season at San Diego State after taking over the Aztec helm on April 9, 2002. His career and Aztec head coaching record is 17-38.
-USD Head Coach Kathy Marpe: Marpe is in her 25th season and owns a mark of 285-380 with the Toreros. Marpe's overall career record spans 32 years and stands at 372-443.
