CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. - Four Aztecs were victorious in their pre-qualifying matches at the 2004 ICY HOT ITA All-American Tournament. The annual event is the first leg of the college grand slam at the Champions Club in Chattanooga, Tenn.
Junior Daniel Jung defeated Florent Girod, 6-4, 6-3. Benedikt Stronk, coming off a strong showing at the Diadora Pro Championships in Costa Mesa, Calif., beat Jack Frankowicz by a score of 1-6, 6-3, 6-4.
Other Aztecs who were victorious at pre-qualifying include, senior Armando Carrascosa, who notched a 7-5, 6-3, win over Viktor Zetterholm and Christian Groh who won, 6-1, 6-3, over Dennis Andrade.
Pre-qualifying matches continue at the ITA All-American tomorrow.
