* - With his 45 yards on 11 carries, Aztec junior Michael Franklin reached the 1,000-yard plateau in career rushing with 1,002 yards. Franklin had 346 yards as a red-shirt freshman in 2002, 371 yards as a sophomore in 2003, and has 295 yards as a junior in 2004. Franklin also tallied a career game high in receptions with 11 (45 yards), besting his previous high of eight at Wyoming in 2002.
* - Linebackers Kirk Morrison and Matt McCoy both reached double-figures in tackles tonight. Morrison had 11 tackles and reached double-figures for the second straight game and the 13th time in his career. Morrison's 11 tackles included eight solos and two tackles for loss. McCoy, meanwhile, had 10 tackles (6 solo) and reached double-figures for the second time this season, the fourth time in the last six games and the eighth time in his career.
* - With the 402 yards tonight, SDSU has reached the 400-yard mark in total offense three times in four games in 2004 ... the Aztecs were outgained in total offense (410-402) for the second time this season and the second time on the road. But in those two games, SDSU has been outgained by just a total of 24 yards (vs. Michigan - outgained by 16 (327-311)) ... in the four games this season, SDSU has combined to outgain its opponents by 212 yards.
* - SDSU rushed for 139 yards tonight, despite being tagged for -23 yards on the muffed punt in the first half ... seven players combined for the 139 yards and four accumulated at least 12 yards ... the Aztecs ran for 137 of those yards in the second half after recording 2 net yards in the first half.
* - With his 23 completions on 42 attempts for 215 yards, SDSU quarterback Matt Dlugolecki logged his third straight game with at least 23 completions and at least 40 attempts. He also reached the 200-yard passing mark for the fifth straight game dating back to last season. Dlugolecki's 42 pass attempts match his career high of 42 at Michigan earlier this season.
* - Tight end Jeremy Justice became the fourth Aztec to attempt and complete a pass this season ... three Aztecs have thrown a pass and caught a pass this season (Justice, Dlugolecki and Franklin).
* - Redshirt freshman Brandon Bornes logged his third rushing touchdown of the season in the third quarter tonight ... a year ago, Lynell Hamilton led Aztecs with four rushing TDs.
* - Jeff Webb has caught at least one pass in each of his last 14 games and has at least two catches in each of his last 10 outings.
* - Josh Dean recorded his team-leading third interception of the season and the fifth of his career. He has five picks in his last 10 games dating back to last season ... Dean's three interceptions in 2004 are a career season-high ... SDSU entered the game ranked third in the country in INTs and now have nine by six different players.
* - Brandon Bornes tied his career high for carries with nine and notched a career best for rushing yards with 62 (previous - nine carries for 59 yards vs. Nevada).
* - Ramal Porter recorded a career game high in receiving yardage (55 yards) and tied his high for receptions (4) ... his previous highs were four catches for 54 yards versus Nevada.
* - SDSU's 12-play scoring drive to open the game matched a season-high in terms of number of plays (also 12, twice vs. Nevada).
* Other Aztec notes - Brett Swain recorded his first career rush in the third quarter, gaining 23 yards on the play.
