Aztecs To Face Air Force on Friday
The San Diego State Aztecs will play host to Mountain West Conference foe Air Force this weekend at 3 p.m. Friday on the SDSU Sports Deck. The Aztecs (5-6-5, 2-0-2 Mountain West Conference) are currently tied for first-place with UNLV (3-1 MWC) in the MWC.
Last Weekend With The Aztecs
SDSU opened up its home portion of the Mountain West Conference schedule with 1-0 wins against former first-place teams Wyoming and New Mexico. On Oct. 15, sophomore Jen Klunder scored on a header in the 77th minute to lead the Aztecs past the Cowgirls. The play was setup when senior Noelle Jouglet sent a cross from the right side of the field to Klunder who knocked in a well-placed header into the upper-right side of the net from 15 yards away. The goal was SDSU's first goal since Sept. 24.
Senior Sophia Perez made five saves to earn her third consecutive and seventh shutout of the season.
On Oct. 17, Klunder tallied her second game-winning goal in as many games at the 93:08 mark of the first overtime to lead the Aztecs to a 1-0 triumph.
