SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's soccer team fell to Navy, 1-0, Sunday afternoon at the SDSU Sports Deck. Both teams are now 1-2-1.

Freshman Brigitte Fox (La Mesa, Calif.) scored the only goal of the match at the 72:55 mark when her shot from 30 yards away was deflected into the back of the net by Aztec goalkeeper Sophia Perez.

The game was close throughout without any team maintaining a clear advantage in possession. Each team finished with four corner kicks, while SDSU held a 12-11 edge in shots.

The Aztecs best chance to score came in the 30th minute, when junior Alexis Solovij had her shot bounce of the right crossbar and cleared out of danger by a Navy defender.

Freshman Erin Quinones registered three shots to lead SDSU offensively. Solovij, senior Gina Salinas and sophomore Jen Klunder had two shots apiece.

Senior goalkeeper Sophia Perez played the first 87:24 in net and stopped six shots for the Aztecs. Junior Gricelda Alvarez played the final 2:36 without facing a shot.

SDSU travels to face city rival University of San Diego at 7 p.m. Saturday.
