Volleyball Drops 3-0 Decision At Cal State Fullerton

FULLERTON, Calif. - Despite 16 kills from senior Kara Moriarty, San Diego State saw its losing streak extend to 13 matches as it fell 3-0 (30-27, 30-23, 30-15) at Cal State Fullerton. SDSU had 37 kills to 34 for CSF, but the Aztecs hit just .043 for the match. The loss dropped San Diego State to 0-13 on the season while the Titans saw their record improve to 8-5.

Moriarty, making just her second appearance since missing 10 matches due to injury, finished the evening with eight digs, two blocks and a service ace in addition to her 16 kills. She was the only Aztec to reach double figures in kills as the next best total was five by Audra Dent.

Eight different SDSU players recorded at least one block led by Ashley Bowker with three. In addition Aime Cordeiro continued to anchor the back line as the freshman Libero had 12 digs over the three games.

No Fullerton player hit double figure in kills as the Titans hit just .139 fro the match. However their 14 team blocks coupled with 53 errors by SDSU led them to victory.

San Diego State resumes league play on Friday (Oct. 1) when Wyoming visits Peterson Gym for a 7:00 p.m. match.
