POSTGAME QUOTES
Nevada At San Diego State
Saturday, Sept. 25, 2004
Qualcomm Stadium/San Diego, Calif.

SDSU Head Coach Tom Craft

On The Game:
"I thought we got off to a good start and then sputtered. We saw a slightly different defensive alignment than what we were expecting. We made the adjustments. It's been tough juggling up front on the offensive line.

We continue to move people around. It's hard to do that when we're playing three freshmen offensive linemen. I've never seen a team in my 27 years of coaching lose so many players on one side of the ball. We'll keep adjusting the longer they get to play together the better we'll be.

Defensively, we did a nice job tonight. We controlled the football game from the outside. Special teams were very good tonight. We missed a few opportunities that we can't afford to miss.

Overall the game could have been more in control for us but we have to be happy with the win. I don't think people really know how good Nevada is."

Aztec Quarterback Matt Dlugolecki

On The Game:
"There are things that we need to fix on the offensive line. It's important that we don't make the same mistakes twice, although we are getting better."

"We can talk about the negatives, but there are a lot of positives going on. Our passing was there, as was our running at times. The blocking schemes were definitely getting better as well."

On The Passing Game:
"I was just looking for everybody and trying to spread the ball around."

Aztec Linebacker Kirk Morrison

"Whatever they did, our defense was ready for the challenge. We're a team that starts off strong early, but we need to finish the second half. This game we did just that and won in the second half."

"We wanted to prove that last week wasn't a fluke and show how aggressive and how strong of a defense we have. We need to keep proving that throughout this season."

NEVADA HEAD COACH CHRIS AULT

On the game:
"The offense let the team down. I thought the defense played well. They hung in there and made plays when they had to."

On the Nevada defense:
"The defense played very well. You'll see mistakes, but they came after them and didn't back down. The offense not moving the ball gave them good field position. All we had to do was get the offense in gear. Their defense is really good. It was a combination of them being good and us not playing well."

On the SDSU defense:
"They (SDSU) are a fine defense. We couldn't run the ball. They (SDSU) took our run away. When you become to one dimensional, you have problems. San Diego State is a fine defensive football team. Michigan will tell you that. We knew that coming in. Their defense is very, very good."
