SAN DIEGO - Behind a blistering .467 attack percentage, the Loyola Marymount women's volleyball team defeated San Diego State, 3-0 (30-22, 30-18, 30-17), Tuesday evening in Peterson Gym. The match was the final non-conference contest for the Aztecs (0-11) as they are set to begin MWC action on Friday. The victory ended a three-match losing streak for the Lions, who improved to 8-4 on the year.

Sophomore Melanie Greene led San Diego State with nine kills with the next-highest SDSU total being four apiece by Ashley Bowker and Melissa Stapley.

Three LMU players finished in double figures led by Kelli Nerison (15), who also contributed eight blocks on the night. The Lions generated almost twice as many kills (55-30) as the home side and hit over the .450 mark in each of the three games.

Freshman libero Aime Cordeiro led the Aztec defense with six digs while teammate Lindsey Mahan tallied three blocks.

Up next for San Diego State is its Mountain West Conference opener as it travels to Las Vegas to face UNLV on Friday (Sept. 24) at 7:00 p.m.
