SAN DIEGO - San Diego State senior tight end Jeremy Justice has been named to the watch list for the 2004 John Mackey Award, which honors the nation's top collegiate tight end.
The award is presented annually by the Nassau County Sports Commission in Manhasset, N.Y. and is named for NFL Hall of Fame tight end John Mackey, who was also the first president of the NFLPA.
Justice, from Apple Valley, Calif., drew 10 starts as a junior in 2003 and led San Diego State tight ends with 17 receptions for 209 yards, good enough for sixth on the team.
The 26-player watch list will be narrowed to three finalists leading up to the announcement of the winner in early December.
Justice is one of four tight ends from the Mountain West Conference and one of nine seniors on the John Mackey Award watch list.
