SAN DIEGO - The San Diego State women's crew team had four boats compete at the San Diego Crew Classic on Saturday. The lightweight boat finished second in their heat with a time of 7:16.57. The other three boats finished in fifth place in their heats: the novice boat with a time of 7:32.12, the JV boat in a time of 7:17.76, while the varsity boat completed the race with a time of 7:15.23.
The JV boat finished fifth in the 3rd final with a time of 7:21.82.
The San Diego Crew Classic sees crowds of 15-20,000 watch 3,400 athletes from 150 rowing programs of all levels compete.
In Sunday's action, the varsity boat competes in a third final race at 9:40 a.m. and the lightweights compete for the championship in the grand final at 1:30 p.m.
On April 17, San Diego State faces the other San Diego collegiate programs, San Diego and UC San Diego, at the San Diego City Championships, also held at Mission Bay.
