SAN DIEGO -- Dita Hauerlandova, Indra Erichsen and Alesya Vidov recorded singles and doubles victories as San Diego State defeated Colorado State 4-1 in the quarterfinal round of the 2004 Mountain West Conference Women's Tennis Championship at the Barnes Tennis Center.
The fourth-seeded Aztecs won three straight-set singles matches to defeat the fifth-seeded Rams and advance to Friday's semifinal round.
With the match tied at one, SDSU recorded three straight singles victories. Erichsen put the Aztecs up for good with a 6-1, 6-2 win at number three. Vidov gave San Diego State a 3-1 lead with a 7-6 (3), 6-3 victory followed by Hauerlandova's 6-3, 6-2 victory.
The defending conference champions will face top-seeded New Mexico on Friday in the semifinal round. Match time at the Barnes Tennis Center is set for 2 p.m. PDT.
