SDSU Crew Heads to Miller Cup Regatta
* The San Diego State women's crew team will compete at the Miller Cup Regatta at La Balonia Creek in Marina Del Rey, Calif. Competition begins at 10 a.m. with the final race scheduled to commence at 1:12 p.m. All races are 1750 meters.
* SDSU will send four boats: varsity four, novice eight, junior varsity eight and varsity eight. There are two heats in each event with the heat winner and next fastest time advancing to the grand final with petite finals also being held in each event.

Tonne Has the Will
* Sophomore Korina Tonne is in her second year as an Aztec rower and will sit in the bow seat of the junior varsity eight boat at this weekend's Miller Cup.
* "Korina has a lot of will power and internal drive, which is important for rowing," head coach Jennifer Zebroski said. "She motivates herself to do better every practice and in turn her teammates gain strength from her consistency on the erg machines and through her dedication to training."

Recapping the San Diego City Championships
* The Aztecs won four golds and had two second-place finishes to record the best performance of the three San Diego-area programs at Saturday's San Diego City Championships versus UC San Diego and the University of San Diego.
* "(Saturday) was a great day for Aztec women's rowing," head coach Jennifer Zebroski said. "The JV boat stepped up its intensity this week (during practice) and it really paid off. They had a strong second 1,000 (meters) of the race, which helped them beat out USD for the first place spot by five seconds. The novice eight had a great race today. They felt controlled and comfortable during their race."
* The boats that won their races were junior varsity eight, lightweight eight, novice eight and novice four. The second-place boats were the varsity eight and varsity four.

Looking to the Rest of the Spring
* The Aztecs head to Sacramento, Calif., for the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships which take place May 1-2, the Pacific Coast Rowing Championships May 15 and the Pac-10 Championships on May 16. The NCAA Championships take place from May 28-30 in Sacramento and the IRA Championships are June 3-5 in Camden, N.J.
