SAN DIEGO - San Diego State is in fourth place after two rounds of action at the 53rd Annaul Border Olympics in Laredo, Texas as they opened at three-under 573. SMU leads the 17-team field at 558, but SDSU is only four strokes out of second place. The Aztecs began the day with a 287 and followed with a 286, with junior Aaron Choi leading the way at three-under par 141 and in 13th. The final round will be played tommorrow at the Laredo Country Club.
Choi opened the day with a four-under par 68 and shot a one-over par 73 in the second round. The 68 was his lowest round of the season and tied the second lowest round of his career.
Following Choi was freshman Aaron Goldberg at one-under 143 as he shot 71 and 72. Senior Mark Warman rebounded from an opening round 74 to shoot 71 in the second round for a 145 total. Goldberg sits in 18th while Warman is 21st, overall.
Finishing out the scoring for SDSU was Chris Cole, who posted scores of 77 and 70 for a 147 total. Linus Nilsson played as an individual and shot 75 and 71.
