SAN DIEGO - The 67th-ranked San Diego State women's tennis team won all nine matches en route to a 7-0 victory over Utah on Saturday morning in Las Vegas.
The Aztecs dropped just two sets in the nine matches and improved to 5-9 overall and 1-1 in Mountain West Conference action. The Utes fall to 5-12 and 0-2 in league play.
San Diego State swept the three doubles matches. Following a loss the previous day, the 25th-ranked doubles team of Katalina Romero and Indra Erichsen recorded an 8-2 victory at number one.
The Aztecs had relatively little trouble in the singles matches although SDSU did have to rally from a set down at number one and number three. After dropping the first set, Dita Hauerlandova rallied for a 4-6, 7-5, 10-6 victory at number one. Erichsen also posted a three-set win, rallying for a 0-6, 6-4, 10-4 victory.
San Diego State returns home and opens a five-match homestand next Saturday against Oregon.
