Aztecs Tied For First After Two Rounds At Duck Invitational

Junction City, Ore. - San Diego State is tied for first place at 574 after 36-holes at the Oregon Duck Invitational. SDSU opened with a 289, the best round in the morning, and followed with a 285 in the afternoon. The Aztecs are tied with host Oregon and four strokes ahead of Oregon State in the 14 team field. Sophomore Jeff Hansen is in third place at 140 after opening with rounds of 71 and 69, just two strokes off the lead. The tournament will conclude on Tuesday with 18-holes.

Hansen's three-under 69 was his second best score at SDSU, trailing only a 68 he fired at Mid Pines, the opening tournament of the year. Hansen is seeking his first top-20 finish with the Aztecs in four tournament appearances.

Senior Mark Warman sits in fifth position after shooting 142, with rounds of 70 and 72. Mark finished second at SDSU's last tournament in San Antonio and is looking for the eighth top five finish of his career.

Freshmen Aaron Goldberg and Chris Cole rounded out the scoring for the Aztecs as they both shot 149 for the opening day to tie for 28th.

SDSU is trying to capture its first tournament title of the year.
