SAN DIEGO - The 34th-ranked San Diego State women's tennis team came up empty this weekend, as visiting No. 44 Georgia Tech, handed the Aztecs a 6-1 loss at the SDSU Courts Sunday afternoon. With the loss, SDSU fell to 3-4 overall, while the Yellow Jackets improved to 5-2 in 2004.
After dropping the No. 3 doubles match, the Aztecs rallied to win at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. SDSU's Indra Erichsen and Katalina Romero, ranked 13th nationally, edged Georgia Tech's Kelly Anderson and Sekita Grant, 9-8, and Aztecs Alesya Vidov and Dita Hauerlandova defeated Lyndsay Shosho and Maria Nieto, 8-6.
The Yellow Jackets, however, would win all seven singles matches with three of those going to three sets apiece.
San Diego State will look to even its record when it heads to Seattle, March 5-6, for a pair of dual matches with No. 63 Washington State on Friday and No. 4 Washington on Saturday.
