The Aztec Battle at the Lakes concluded on Sunday with LeVerne earning the team title in the 11 team field by 10 strokes over CSU San Marcos with a total of 586. SDSU freshman Aaron Goldberg won the individual title by firing a three-under 139 to win by two strokes. Goldberg shot 69 in the first round and followed it with 70 on Sunday to take the title. San Diego State and the University of San Diego had participants only compete as individuals in the 36-hole event.
The individual championship is Goldberg's first of his career as an Aztec. Goldberg entered the final round down by one stroke, but posted the second best score in the second round to seal the title.
Aaron Choi placed 14th as an individual for the Aztecs after shooting 75 in both rounds to finish at eight-over, 150.
Johnson and Wales, Holy Names and UC San Diego rounded out the top five in the team competition.
