San Diego State (11-9 overall; 2-3 Mountain West Conference), looks to pull within one game of second place in the Mountain West Conference and snap a season-long three-game slide on Monday night at Cox Arena against New Mexico (11-7/2-3 MWC).

The contest between the Aztecs and Lobos is scheduled for a 7:05 p.m. PST start and will be televised by SportsWest (the game will be televised in the San Diego market on Channel 4 San Diego). The game can also be heard on XPRS-1090 AM (The Mighty 1090).

San Diego State suffered its third straight defeat on Saturday night, a 57-43 decision to conference leading Air Force in front of the fifth-largest crowd in Cox Arena history (11,027). The game, which featured six ties and seven lead changes, was in doubt late with the Aztecs trailing just 47-42 with 3:29 to play. The Falcons ended the contest with a 10-1 run to provide the final margin.

Air Force recorded 14 steals, the most by an Aztec opponent this season, and San Diego State suffered from 19 turnovers, the second highest total this season. Junior guard Wesley Stokes came off the bench to score 12 points and dish out five assists. Freshman forward Marcus Slaughter had 11 points and seven rebounds.

New Mexico had a two-game winning streak snapped Saturday night in an 89-80 defeat at UNLV. Javin Tindall connected on 9-of-11 three-point field goals en route to a game-high 27 points. Danny Granger added 12 points and eight rebounds for the Lobos.

After opening the season 2-3, New Mexico has won nine of its last 13 games dating back to a loss to Texas Tech on Dec. 6.

Following the contest, the Aztecs will play the next three games on the road and will not return to Cox Arena until Sat., Feb. 21 against Wyoming.
