SDSU Women's Basketball Plays Host To Wyoming Thursday In MWC Home Opener

-When & Where: Thurs., Jan. 22, 2004, vs. Wyoming at 7:00 p.m. PST, Cox Arena (12,414), San Diego, Calif.

-Webcast/Live Stats: The games will be broadcast live on the internet at www.goaztecs.com with Bill Earley, Tammy Blackburn and Dan Lawton calling the action. Live stats will also be available for Thursday's game.

-The Records: The San Diego State women's basketball team looks to secure its first conference win of the season as it plays host to its MWC home opener Thursday versus Wyoming. The Aztecs are coming off a 76-58 loss at UNLV, which boasts a conference best 12-2 overall record.

Wyoming, meanwhile, opened its MWC campaign with a 1-1 record, including a 57-50 upset over Brigham Young in Laramie on Saturday afternoon. The Cowgirls are 5-10 overall in 2003-04, but have won four of their last seven after opening the year at 0-5.

-Head Coach Jim Tomey: Tomey (Michigan '81) is in his second season at San Diego State after taking over the Aztec helm on April 9, 2002. His career and Aztec head coaching record is 14-27.

-Wyoming Head Coach Joe Legerski: Legerski is in his first season at his alma mater and boasts an overall record of 5-10. Legerski is a former assistant coach at Utah.
