William & Mary Men's Tennis Defeats SDSU, 7-0

SAN DIEGO -- The 33rd-ranked San Diego State men's tennis team lost its season-opening dual match to 47th-ranked William & Mary, 7-0, on Tuesday afternoon at the SDSU Courts.

The Aztecs received a quality victory at number one doubles from the nation's ninth-ranked duo, Ryan Redondo and Felix Hardt at number one doubles. The Aztec pair posted a 9-7 victory over 28th-ranked Geoff Russell and Steven Kane, but William & Mary posted wins in number two and number three doubles to secure the point.

The Tribe won all six singles matches, including a battle between nationally-ranked opponents at the number one position. William & Mary's Jeff Kader, ranked 26th nationally, defeated 56th-ranked Hardt, 6-2, 3-6, 6-1.

The Aztecs will compete in the Sherwood Invitational in Malibu, Calif., beginning on Friday.
