Aztec Women's Basketball Takes On Cross-Town Rival USD Wednesday

-The Records: The San Diego State women's basketball team will look to get back to its winning ways on two fronts, when it plays host to cross-town rival University of San Diego, Wed., Dec. 10, at Cox Arena. The Aztecs are coming off a 71-52 loss at Cal State Northridge on Saturday, which snapped a three-game win streak. A victory over the Toreros would also avenge last year's 72-53 defeat at USD.

San Diego has dropped its last four games of 2003-04, after defeating Nevada 96-74 on Nov. 22, for its only win of the season. The Toreros have only beaten the Aztecs once in 18 chances in games played at SDSU.

-In The RPI: In the second RPI released by the WBCA on Dec. 8, SDSU is ranked 300th, while San Diego is 281st of the 324 NCAA Division I teams. The Aztecs are 258th in the Jeff Sagarin/College Basketball News rankings.

-SDSU Head Coach Jim Tomey: Tomey (Michigan '81) is in his second season at San Diego State after taking over the Aztec helm on April 9, 2002. His career and Aztec head coaching record is 12-20.

-USD Head Coach Kathy Marpe: Marpe is in her 24th season as head coach at USD. Her record at USD is 379-362, while she is 366-425 in 31 seasons as a head coach.
