San Diego State Records Earliest Fifth Win in School History with 76-51 Decision over UCSD

SAN DIEGO (AP) - Wesley Stokes scored 18 points and Chris Manker added a career-high 12 to lead San Diego State to a 76-51 win over UC San Diego on Saturday night.

San Diego State jumped out to a 16-2 lead in the first 4 1-2 minutes of the game after Brandon Heath and Stokes hit back-to-back 3-pointers.

The Aztecs (5-2) shot 58.6 percent from the floor in the first half on the way to a 45-28 halftime lead.

Matthew Sweany scored 12 points to lead UC San Diego (1-3), an NCAA Division II school.

Heath, Chris Walton and Aerick Sanders scored 12 points apiece for the Aztecs, who held a 46-25 rebounding edge. Walton had a game-high 10 rebounds.

San Diego State, which beat UC San Diego 87-57 last season, has won all six games against the Tritons by an average margin of 29 points per game.
