SAN DIEGO - San Diego State sophomore Dita Hauerlandova will play for the singles title and will join senior Katalina Romero in the doubles finals at the USD Women's Tennis Fall Classic on Sunday.
Hauerlandova advanced to both finals, winning a pair of straight-set singles matches and teaming up with Romero to post a victory in semifinal doubles on Saturday afternoon at USD.
Hauerlandova lost 11 games in four singles sets in the quarterfinal and seminfinal rounds. She disposed of Sandra Rocha of Long Beach State, 6-1, 6-3, in the quarters and Lauren Perl of San Diego, the tournament's top seed, 6-4, 6-3 in the semis. Hauerlandova will face the tournament's sixth-seed Nicole Bouffler for the singles title.
The Aztec duo of Romero and Hauerlandova recorded an 8-5 win over USD's Tara Livesay and Emma Murphy. The San Diego State team will play for the doubles title tomorrow.
