LAS VEGAS (AP) - Quarterback Adam Hall threw a touchdown pass in the first quarter to lead San Diego State past UNLV 7-0 in Mountain West Conference play Saturday.

Hall, who completed 10 of 22 passes for 89 yards in the game, found Robert Ortiz in the left corner of the end zone in the first quarter on a three-play drive that lasted 39 seconds. The Aztecs gained possession after Josh Dean intercepted UNLV quarterback Kurt Nantkes.

It marked the first time the Rebels were shutout since 1999 against BYU at home, 29-0, and the first time the Aztecs did not allow a point since a 34-0 win at Wyoming in 2000.

The Aztecs (5-5, 2-3) out-rushed the Rebels (5-5, 1-4) 151 yards to 31 as running back Lynell Hamilton ran for 94 yards on 24 carries.

Nantkes, who played with a strained left groin, struggled all afternoon and was intercepted three times while completing 14-of-29 for 137 yards.

He was replaced by Shane Steichen with 6:53 left in the second quarter, but Nantkes returned to start the third quarter and finished the game.

The Rebels had a chance to tie with 5:51 left in the game, but came up short after two incomplete passes at the Aztec 3.
