Volleyball Records Three-Game Victory at Air Force

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - San Diego State got 11 kills apiece from Kara Moriarty and Aspen McPartland as it defeated Air Force, 3-0 (30-19, 31-29, 30-28), at the Cadet East Gym in Colorado Springs. The Aztecs moved to 16-11 on the season and 6-5 in the Mountain West Conference as they recorded their third straight win. Air Force, meanwhile, saw its record fall to 13-12 overall and 3-8 in league play.

In addition to her 11 kills, McPartland finished off a double double with 14 digs and also contributed eight blocks. SDSU recorded a total of 12 team blocks to none for the Falcons and finished with a .297 attack percentage on the night while holding Air Force to .179.

Senior Melissa Cansdale had another strong outing for San Diego State, hitting .316 for the match with no attack errors and also chipped in with five blocks.

The Aztecs came out strong in game one, hitting .444 as they rolled to an 11-point win. Games two and three were much closer affairs, with SDSU managing to win each by just two points.

Air Force's Delavane Diaz led all players with 30 kills, a season high by an opponent against SDSU this season. Lamecca Jefferson had a double double with 11 kills and 11 digs.

San Diego State concludes the road portion of its 2003 schedule on Saturday (Nov. 8), when it visits Albuquerque to take on New Mexico at 7:00 p.m. (MST).
